Monthly Archives: February 2014

Today’s makeup

This look has lasted all day until now so I must remember to take before pictures lol.
On my eyes I used ELF Baked eyeshadow in Burnt Plum.
On my lashes I used Max Factor False Lash Effect in black and on my lips I have Avon Ruby in Gold. The lipstick I had to reapply every few hours but the rest stayed in place nicely.

What do you think?

Birchbox February

I received two subscription boxes in the mail this month, let’s start with Birchbox. I am quite happy with it this month. I will do the other subscription box soon.

First is the Beauty Protector protect and oil £16 full size. It is a nourishing hair oil which battles UVrays, heat and breakage. You work in 1-3 drops into damp hair or to dry ends. Perfect for all hair types.
I use a similar oil already and love it so I look forward to trying this to see if it can control frizziness without looking oily.

Next is the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner, £12. A foolproof liquid liner to help you create Alexa Chung style feline flicks in a flash. The precision pen tip ensures a tidy line.
I am intrigued to see how this works as I’m used to gel eyeliners.

Coryse Salome Ultimate anti-age restorative night cream. £14.95 full size. A nightly skin boost for a smooth revitalised complexion when you wake. Apply to dry skin at night and let it work it’s magic.

Erb Asia Eastern treat hand cream. £19. Jasmine, rice cream and mint combine to soften, rebalance and nourish even the driest of hands. Massage into hands whenever needed.
I needed a new hand cream and this smells delicious.

Leighton Denny nail colour £11
Apply two even coats and finish with a top coat. I got a pastel beige colour. It seems nice do I will give it a go once I’ve moved house.

Overall I’m happy with my Birchbox this month, what do you think?

More makeup

I got a mixed bag of makeup for you today, some Avon, some drugstore/supermarket.
Let’s start with my only non-makeup and favourite part of the blog entries. I finally got it! Gucci Guilty perfume!

With it in the picture is a Barry M gel eyeliner in White, the black one is the only eyeliner I am comfortable with so I thought I would try the white one for my waterline. I have not added links to the products as I can’t copy and paste well on my iPod touch, I got both of these from Amazon UK

Next up is two Avon products, an eyeshadow pencil in roaring blue.

The second is a lip crayon also Avon. The box says Ultra Colour Lip Crayon and it’s in Fresh Fuscia. It’s lovely and creamy on the lips and I have worn it three days straight since Friday.

In the above photo is from the top Avon eye pencil, Avon lip crayon and lastly my next product.
I bought a mixed mystery bag of four items off eBay for £3 and one of the items I received was an eye pencil from Warpaint Cosmetics, I have never heard of this brand but it looks gorgeous and is very pigmented.

The other three items are a tester sample of Maybelline Fit Me, a mascara by George with is part of a supermarket here and an eyeshadow duo called RU UP 2 IT? By Rimmel London in the shade 03 Hip and Cool.

So that’s it from me today, I hope everyone is having a good day despite the pouring rain here.
What supermarket brands have you used? Have you ever had pot luck makeup?

When makeup goes wrong

All I can do is laugh at myself. I attempted to do my makeup in bed with no mirror cause I’ve hurt my back. We are so used to seeing perfect makeup that I thought I would share my bloopers with you. I was using the reversed camera on my phone in an attempt to see what I was doing lol.

I hope you’re all having a fun day and that this makes you smile.

Short post

I got two Scandaleyes eyeshadows and one Barry M lip crayon

The Barry M is in a gorgeous red colour labeled No2, it’s creamy on my lips but needs regular reapplying throughout the day.

The first Scandaleyes is silver and is named Mercury Silver. It is the same as all my previous Scandaleyes in that it goes on beautifully but needs a primer to give it staying power.
The bronze-ish colour is the same as abover except it is called Rich Russet.
I really love these products, the feel is creamy and I adore the colours in the range and have most of them.
That’s it for my short post. What are your favourite eye products or even lip crayons?

Little treats

Now that January is over I have decided to treat myself to 3 nail polishes and a lipstick.

First off is the lipstick, it’s from MAC and I have wanted it for ages but I deemed it too expensive until now. It’s called Russian Red and here it is.

MAC lipsticks are gorgeous and strongly pigmented, I love it!

Next as you can see from the previous picture is a Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Grass Slipper. It’s so bright and vibrant I just had to get it to brighten up the cold grey mornings.

Next is another Sally Hansen nail polishes one is Lilac Chantilly, it’s a Diamond Strength no chip nail polish so I have great expectations of it.
The second is a One Coat polish from Milani in Gold Glitz so I’m interested to see how this works out. I will review each one as I use them.

Lastly I have a chocolate treat. Cadburys Dairy Milk Pebbles. These are milk chick at balls covered in a thin hard candy shell and they are absolutely gorgeous. Keep your eyes peeled for them.

Let me know your opinion on the nail polishes and tell me your own favourite polishes and lipsticks.

My latest haul

Today I got quite a range of things so I’ll just dive straight in with ELF.

I haven’t yet tried all these products so bare with me. First off is the Mineral Infused Face Primer. It says ” Fills in the lines and pores for a flawless finish” ” Transform your face into a flawless and smooth canvas with the Mineral Infused Face Primer”
Which all sounds good so I will give you a review soon.
Next is the ELF All over colour stick in Toasted which I hope will make a nice contour shade. I have the pink one of this and it’s gorgeous as a blusher.
After that comes the ELF Glitter Mascara in Teal. That’s pretty much self explanatory really. I can’t wait to try it.
Next in this section is the ELF Brightening Eye Colour in Ethereal. It says ” Brightening, crease resisting and long wearing formula” ” Long lasting, instantly brightens and defines, eyes look fresh and wide awake”

ELF Mineral Lip Liner and ELF Mineral Lipstick in Rich Raspberry is an absolutely gorgeous colour, rich and creamy and feels great on the lips.

While I am on lip products I will add in the Loreal Paris 6h Glam Shine in Plum addiction. I Love this product. This is my second one and I intend to get lots more.

Top is the Glam Shine, then the ELF lipstick and lastly the lip liner.

Next is the ELF Wrinkle Refiner in clear. ” Instantly smooth, soften and virtually fill in laugh lines, crows feet and wrinkles for a flawless finish”

ELF Under Eye Concealer and highlighter. A double ended product that I can’t wait to try out.

Lastly for now is ELF Cream Eyeliner in Punk Purple lines and defines your eyes, long wearing and smudge proof. Again I can’t wait to try this out.

Thanks for reading. What are your favourite eye and lip products and what do you think of ELF?
