Today I have two nail polishes, two lipsticks, a concealer, an eyeliner and a mascara. Continue reading if you want to know more……………….
The nail polishes from left to right are Rimmel London 60 second in the shade 210 Ethereal. It is a pale baby pink polish which is beautiful m! It is perfect for spring as it’s the same pink as the cherry blossom trees on my street.
Next to it is Barry M Matte nail paint in 410 Vanilla. It is a very difficult shade to describe, kind of pinky purple taupe in a Matte finish which is new for me and a great addition to my collection.
Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer says it’s anti-fatigue effect + radiant glow in 010 Ivory, it fits my skin tone lovely which is usually difficult as I could never found a foundation that matched until I went to Boots pharmacy to get my skin checked with the colour match machine they have there.
The other swatch you see next to it is the Barry M black Liquid Eyeliner, it goes on so easily, as good as their gel liner for the waterline.
The next two are from left to right, Rimmel London lasting finish lipsticks in 066 Heather Shimmer and 084 Amethyst Shimmer both of which are gorgeous colours that I can’t wait to try out.
Lastly I bought a new mascara which I am not going to open to show you the brush as I have have a dozen mascaras to finish up first and I don’t want this one to dry out.
So have you tried Rimmel much? Tried the mascara? Your input would be most welcome. Bye for now my lovelies.
New brand Famous cosmetics have come out with a wide range of products and I decided to sample a few. http://www.famousmakeup.co.uk
First up is a highlighter from Revolution which I got off eBay. It’s a beautiful colour but now onto the eyeshadow named Merged eyeshadow shade 6. It is a strong deeply pigmented colour and it looks beautiful in it’s marbled effect.
Next is a lipstick and lip gloss. The lipstick is called Lip Addict Spot Light. It’s a gorgeous creamy consistency that lasts the usual couple of hours before needing a top up coat. The packaging is cute as at the end of the lipstick is a flip up mirror with a little pot of lipstick for using with a lip brush.
The lipgloss from what I can tell is a regular lipgloss nothing special except the packaging has a light up lid when unscrewed and a mirror along one side of the bottle.
I have two more items left to show you but these are from Wet n Wild.
Firstly is a beautiful single eyeshadow called Plum Silva. It’s strongly pigmented and wears well on the lid.
And finally I have a wonderful little mini palette which I haven’t even worn yet, but the pattern and the colours make me excited to work with it soon.
What do you think to these purchases? Will you give Famous cosmetics a try?
Today I have ELF, MUA and Clinique
Starting with the latter I got a beautiful blush cheek pop in the shade 02 Peach Pop. I apologise that all photos are wonky today. It is truly gorgeous look
Next is :
In order of Mocha Swirl, Berry mix and Butter Pecan these are duo eyeshadow creams that are so soft and buttery! Truly beautiful textures and colour with one swatch.
Next is the ELF Cream Eyeshadow made to line, shade and contour your eyes in Teal Party.
This is a HD Blush from ELF in the shade Headliner. This is a powerful little blush, a quarter of a pump will do both cheeks and even then it will probably need toning down. I looked like a clown until I got the hang of it.
Next to it is the beautiful Makeup Academy Undress Your Skin shimmer highlighter. Just look at it, it’s beautiful isn’t it? I’ve lost the swatch sadly though. And lastly we have MUA lipsticks which although nice, I am not as enamoured with as the rest of my haul. Gorgeous colours but I needed a gloss over them as they felt too dry on my lips. Left to right and bottom to top is Peachy Keen and Pouty Pink. The ends twist off to give a pot of colour to use a lip brush from as well as the main lipstick, nice but feels a bit gimmicky to me.
Tell me your experiences with these brands and products please>
This is a cool eyeshadows palette from ELF. It says “The beautiful soft textures melt into the skin for vibrant colour that lasts. Convenient and easy to apply, just layer the colours to achieve your desired look. Apply wet or dry for a fabulous look that never creases or fades”
The eyeshadows feel buttery and spread gorgeously creating a beautiful look.
Do you think you would buy it? Or have you already tried it?
ELF were having a 40% off sale and I fell for it big time, actually twice but this is just the first haul.
Let’s start with the biggest item, the Beauty Book Natural Look which contains 6 eyeshadows, 1 eyelid primer, 1 eyeliner pencil and 1 eyeshadow applicator.
This is a Long-lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in the colour Gala. I think it’s gorgeous and now know the type of eyeshadow to get as the others are less pigmented.
This one is called Raspberry Truffle shade of the Single eyeshadows and it’s not very pigmented compared to the long lasting pigment but I like the colour.
Next is the single eyeshadow again but in Purple Passion which has a stronger pigment than the previous one.
The previous pictures are Pouty Petal an Rich Raspberry L to R in Mineral Lipstick. I love these colours so much. I’m really happy with the staying power too, 4 hours without eating or drinking. It may not seem like much but for ELF lippies that’s good going.
L to R is Fearless and Seductive. These are beautiful colours, rich and vibrant.
Overall I am happy with all my purchases and was delighted to get 40% off everything.
What are your thoughts?
The theme for this month is Best of British. The very disappointing thing about You Beauty is that it doesn’t give much information on the product and no prices anywhere.
Firstly we start with Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater ultra-moisturising hand therapy. This is an intensely conditioning cream formulated with a nourishing blend of Shea butler and macadamia nut oil along with hydrating hyaluronic acid, antioxidant rich vitimin C and E, myrrh to help condition cuticles and nails, and cerimides to help reduce moisture loss.
Then we have Dragonfly Tea in Moroccan mint green tea and Moonlight Jasmine green tea.
A British family company dedicated to bringing you delicious artisan teas from around the world using ancient and natural methods, with 100% pure infusions.
Up next we have The Vintage Company Toe Separators. Nothing much to be said about those really.
Lastly we have BeautyLab London Glyco Face Wash. This high performance , multifunctional wash is the perfect cleansing solution as it removes impurities, unclogs pores and accelerates cell renewal cycle, resulting in fresh, radiant and youthful looking skin.
This is the item plus the Rose hand lotion that I am most excited about. I will let you know how it goes.
Have you tried anything by these makers before? Tell me your thoughts!
This is going to be mostly pictures so with that said, here goes!
First is Mitchell and Peach Body Cream.
” With English honey, organic cocoa, vitimin B5 and Shea butter, this Mitchell and Peach body cream is perfect to leave you feeling as though you’ve taken a walk in the English countryside.”
£36 for 180ml.
It feels great on my skin but I just don’t like the scent, it’s strong and smells too much of honey for my liking, sorry to whomever likes it.
As you can see from the photo, our next product is Sleek MakeUP Pout Polish.
“Strike a stunning selfie with pout polish by Sleek. The tinted balm is full of nourishment, and with SPF 15, almond oil, shea butter and vitimin E, it will leave your pout looking perfect”
£4.49 for 10g
Bellapierre Cosmetics LTD Shimmer Powders. Mine came in Snow Flake, I wish I’d got a better colour but I can use it for highlighting my brow bone.
“This 100% pure Mica shimmering eye shadow will provide you with lasting vibrant colour without smearing, creasing or fading”
That’s a lot to live up to so I will keep you informed.
Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 week tan lotion.
I wish I hadn’t got this, I dont self tan and even if I do these are tiny samples.
£37.50 for 150ml
Lastly the one I’m happiest about is Dove Hair Therapy Intensive Repair 60 Second a Treatment Shot.
“Now you don’t have to choose between beauty and hair care with this intensive treatment! It’s the perfect pick-me-up for hair care in a hurry and you can even take it on holiday to revive damaged hair from the sun”
My hair is colour damaged so I look forward to trying this. It’s got keratin in it so that’s good too.
£1.49 for 15ml
Well that’s March’s Glossybox what did you think?
We start with a beautifully boxed up load of goodies.
Then we get to our usual Birchbox box with pink chevron pattern inside .
Firstly is English Laundry No7 for her sample bottle and card. A full size bottle of this is £47. It says “top notes of pear and jasmine blend with gardenia, vanilla and sandalwood in this delightful scent”
I find I like this perfume better than the original English Laundry scent but not as much as my Gucci Guilty so I will be popping this into my handbag for moments where I am out and about and in need of perfume.
Next is Korres citrus body milk whose full size is £9.50. “This hydrating lotion not only smells delicious, it does your skin good too, thanks to almond oil and Shea butter”
I find this smells gorgeous and I will be using up this bottle in no time at all and will probably repurchase it.
Next is Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray eye primer for £20.50 “An eye primer you can count on! Ensure eyeshadow and concealer stays put from AM to PM”
This needs to be really good at it’s job to make me pay out that kind of money so I will be doing a review on it soon.
Up next is Dr Brandt Pores No More pore refiner for a whopping £39. I have lots of pore refiners from ELF to Benefit but this makes big claims “A favourite of the photo-ready celebs, this sheer formula minimises pores and absorbs excess oil”
It sounds great so if it does well I might actually pay out for it.
Milton Brown have come out with a Rhubarb and Rose replenishing hand cream that feels luxurious on my hands and smells divine for £10 ” A fast absorbing, repairing and deeply nourishing lotion to leave hands delectably soft and smelling sweet”
Lastly is our Lifestyle Extra which is Candy Rock from Lulu Guinness “This stripy candy represents the traditional sweet shops that inspired Lulu Guinness’ fabulous spring/summer 2014 collection”
Did you get Birchbox this month? Were you happy or disappointed with what you received ?
I am disappointed with the lifestyle option but am quite happy with all the rest of the items and their claims.
This is an 18 shade baked eyeshadow palette from BH Cosmetics called Galaxy Chic. It is the most gorgeous palettes to look at and I look forward to trying them all out. Here take a look..
Let me know if you would like to see looks with this palette.
I have a mini haul for you, first the Mac items. I got a Rihanna Viva Glam lipstick which like all Mac lipsticks, feels like silk going on. I haven’t felt it drying out my lips at all which seems to be unusual for red lippys.
Next is Mac Pro longwear paint pot in Painterly. It seems every youtuber and there mother use this so I caved to the peer pressure and decided to give it a try and I can see why it’s used so often I find it makes a great eyeshadow base as it counteracts the little veins on your eyelids.
Next on to Hard Candy
Glow Away Bronzer and Highlighter duo. These are nice and creamy on the skin and I look forward to reviewing them properly in the near future.
Hard Candy Glitteratzi eye glitter gel and Hard Candy Mouthing Off sheer lip shine in Love Dove and those both do exactly what it says. The Love Dove is a very pale sheer lip shine. I haven’t dared open the glitter yet for fear of finding glitter all I’ve for weeks lol.
However I accidentally opened the next item which was Hard Candy Show Girl loose glitter and now tomorrow when I have a date I will be sparkling like a Twilight Vampire!
The last two products are both Hard Candy too, the first is All Glossed Up shockingly glossy lip pencil in Baby Doll which was damn near impossible to get out of its packaging, however I was please with how soft it was and spread like a lipstick it was so smooth. And lastly the glitter nail polish, I can hear the groan of frustration you all feel at getting glitter polish off but I am hoping it will be worth it. It comes with an unusual name Fabuluxe.
Anyway that’s it from my haul. Comments would be greatly appreciated.
